TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ECKL PARKING COMPANY, LLC FOR PARKING SERVICES IN OLDE GAHANNA; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE FUNDS THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, in an effort to help the businesses in Olde Gahanna during the Mill Street utility project it has been proposed that the City pay for valet parking; and
WHEREAS, proposals were solicited from several companies and the Director of Planning and Development is recommending the lowest cost provider; and
WHEREAS, this service is to be provided to all businesses in Olde Gahanna who are affected by the Mill Street utility project for the life of the utility project; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project to assist our Olde Gahanna businesses in a timely fashion to help minimize the impact on the businesses, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with ECKL PARKING COMPANY, LLC, 170 Marconi Blvd., Columbus, OH 43215, for parking services in Olde Gahanna; said agreement attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($16,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the general fund to Account No. 101.343.5254, Development, Promotions in the 2006 appropriations.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
