TO ACCEPT THE GAHANNA HEARTLAND CONCEPTUAL PLAN, AS REVISED AND DATED AUGUST 25, 1999, AS PREPARED BY BURNS, BERTSCH & HARRIS, INC., AND GEORGE PARKER & ASSOCIATES, AIA, AND THE DEVELOPMENT PRINCIPLES THEREON AS A GUIDE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA.

WHEREAS,  the Department of Development worked diligently toward the completion of a concept plan for the Heartland area generally bounded by US 62, Hamilton Road, the confluence of three rivers at Friendship Park on the south, and Big Walnut Creek on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, consultants were commissiond to develop such a concept plan; and

 

WHEREAS, said conceputal plan was presented and has been recommended by the Department of Development; and

 

WHEREAS, on Augsut 25, 1999, after careful study and deliberation, and following a public hearing on the subject, Planning Commission recommended said plan to Council for approval; and

 

WHEREAS, this Council held public hearing on Gahanna Heartland Concept Plan, said hearing called pursuant to notice and according to law;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.                     That this Council hereby accepts the Gahanna Heartland Conceput Plan, as prepared by Burns, Bertsch and Harris, Inc., and George Parker and Associates, AIA, and as recommended by Planning Commission and the Department of Development, as revised and dated August 25, 1999, as a guide for development planning in the area known as the Heartland, said plan attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
