TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH FUN DAY EVENTS, LLC, FOR INFLATABLE GAMES, ACTIVITIES, FOOD AND LABOR FOR THE CITY'S FREEDOM FESTIVAL FOR 2008; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, now is the appropriate time to secure activities, games and food for our 2008 Freedom Festival; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received from Fun Day Events, LLC, and the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended we proceed with this company; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed so that events can be planned in time for the festival, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with FUN DAY EVENTS, LLC, 947 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for the games, activities, food and labor for the 2008 Freedom Festival, in accordance with City specifications; contract attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($4,575) was set aside in the 2008 Appropriations to Account No. 101.432.5415, Fourth of July, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
