TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH URS CORPORATION FOR MCKENNA CREEK STORMWATER STUDY PHASE II; AND TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $19,700.

WHEREAS, many Gahanna neighborhoods in the McKenna Creek Watershed continue to have storm water problems including ponding in back yards, street flooding and stream erosion of back yards due to high flows in McKenna Creek; and

 

WHEREAS, the City authorized URS to perform an initial stormwater study of the area by ORD-0152-2007; and

 

WHEREAS, now the City wishes to continue with a study to include an evaluation of Columbus territories north of Morse Road in hopes that existing facilities could be modified to help minimize flooding downstream; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with URS Corporation for this study; 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with URS CORPORATION, 277 West Nationwide Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43215, for McKenna Creek Stormwater Study Phase II; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of NINETEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($19,700) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Stormwater Fund to Account No. 631.350.5596, Stormwater Capital Projects/Improvements to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
