TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EMH&T TO DESIGN THE SYCAMORE RUN STREAM RESTORATION PROJECT; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 981.

WHEREAS, the City has agreed with the Sycamore Woods Condominium Association to apply for a grant to mitigate stream erosion in the vicinity of the condominiums; and
WHEREAS, the City applied for a grant last year and was not selected by the EPA, but the City Engineer feels that if the design work for the restoration is completed it will increase the chances of obtaining the grant; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received and the City Engineer and the Director of Public Service have recommended that we proceed with EMH&T for this design work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with EMH&T, 5500 New Albany Road, Columbus, Ohio 43054, for design work for Sycamore Run Stream Restoration; Proposal attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($44,500) was set aside in the 2012 Appropriations to Account No. 631.350.5445, Stormwater Engineering Expense, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
