TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF SCHOOL FLASHERS AT EVANGEL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $7,560; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Evangel Christian Academy has asked that the City install school flashers for the safety of their students; and
WHEREAS, they do have students who walk to school, meeting the criteria for installing school flashers; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with installing these flashers all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Jess Howard Electric Company, 6630 Taylor Road, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, for purchase and installation of two school flashing signs for Evangel Christian Academy, 817 North Hamilton, Gahanna.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($7,560) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated Balance of the Street Fund to Account No. 220.330.5512, Capital Projects, Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
