TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRIBUTION IN AID OF CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER, DBA COLUMBUS SOUTHERN POWER COMPANY, TO PROVIDE ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO HANNAH FARMS PARK; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, to continue with the construction of Hannah Farms Park and to take advantage of the remaining construction season this year it is necessary to have electric service run to the park as soon as possible; and

 

WHEREAS, proposal has been received and the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended we proceed; and 

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation so that said construction can continue, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contribution In Aid of Construction Agreement with American Electric Power dba Columbus Southern Power, to provide electrical service to Hannah Farms Park; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of ELEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY TWO DOLLARS ($11,422) is available from bond proceeds as set forth in ORD-0095-2007, in Account No. 101.431.5596, Parks Capital Projects/Improvements.

 

Section 3.  That second reading is hereby waived.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
