TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STRAWSER HYDRANT, LLC, FOR INSTALLATION OF FIRE HYDRANTS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, bids were opened on March 27, 2006 for installation of fire hydrants; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsive, and responsible, bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that we move forward with this project all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award, and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with STRAWSER HYDRANT, LLC, 1655 Old Leonard Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219, for installation of fire hydrants at a cost of $1,000 each; in accordance with bid and City specifications; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($54,000) was set aside in Account No. 652.351.5510, WSCI, Minor Capital, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date or signature approval by the Mayor.
