TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PARTICPATORY AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE US-62 RESURFACING AND SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.
 
BODY
WHEREAS, resurfacing and repairs are needed on US-62 to ensure pavement integrity and to provide the traveling public with safe driving surfaces; and
 
WHEREAS, The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) intends to resurface US-62 from 670 to just north of Morse Road; and
 
WHEREAS, ODOT has prepared a grant to complete the 5.23 miles of resurfacing in which the City's contribution will be 20% of the project cost; and
 
WHEREAS, in addition to resurfacing, improvements will be made to the US-62/Cherry Bottom traffic signal;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into participatory agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the US-62 Resurfacing and Signal Improvement Project, Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
 
Section 2. That funding will be set aside in 2015 appropriations to Account No. 325.122.5513, Capital Improvement Fund.
 
to cover the herein costs.
 
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
