TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH HAROLD D. HARD COMPANY, TO REMOVE OBSOLETE SYSTEM AND INSTALL NEW WET CHEMICAL FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM IN THE SENIOR CENTER

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has informed Council that the old dry chemical fire suppression system above the range in the kitchen of the Senior Center is obsolete and can not be recharged; and

 

WHEREAS, informal quotes were requested for completion of this work and the best, most inclusive quote has been selected; and

 

WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $1,382 is available in 2002 funds for this work to be completed;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with HAROLD D. HARD COMPANY, 2040 Oakland Park Avenue, P. O. Box 24208, Columbus, OH  43228, for the removal of the obsolete dry chemical system and installation of a new wet chemical fire suppressions system in the kitchen of the Senior Center, said quote attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of $1,382 was appropriated in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 101.434.5511, Capital Projects, Senior Services, and can be used to cover the herein costs. 

 

Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
