TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO AWARD AND ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH DIRT DAWG EXCAVATING LLC FOR THE CLAYCRAFT ROAD WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT (ST-1089)
BODY
WHEREAS, the Claycraft Road waterline project will replace existing 12-inch waterline and related improvements (valves, hydrant replacements, site restoration, etc.); and
WHEREAS, the construction of the water main replacement is being coordinated with the City’s future improvements to the Taylor Station Road and Claycraft Road intersection; and
WHEREAS, the existing Claycraft Road waterline was installed in 1968; and
WHEREAS, on October 11, 2023, construction bids were opened and reviewed, including seven total bids received; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, Dirt Dawg Excavating LLC, had a complete and responsive bid; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends awarding Dirt Dawg Excavating LLC the construction contract for this project, with a total of $2,431,992 required for the contract, which includes a 10 percent project contingency to cover any unforeseen circumstances; and
WHEREAS, no additional funds are requested, as Council has already appropriated adequate funds for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to award and enter into contract with DIRT DAWG EXCAVATING LLC, primary offices located at 1681 ORANGE ROAD, ASHLAND, OH 44805-1300, for the Claycraft Road Waterline Replacement Project (ST-1089), attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
