SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund (FLETF) Capital Projects/Improvements.

WHEREAS, the Division of Police request authorization of the expenditure of $67,000 for the purpose of providing a portion of the overall construction and materials costs for the remodeling of the section of the police facility that houses the Division’s detectives in order to better facilitate investigative operations; and

 

WHEREAS, written authorization for the use of equitable sharing funds for this purpose was requested, and subsequently granted, by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section (AFMLS); and


WHEREAS, the use of the funds for a portion of the construction costs related to this projects is a permissible use in accordance with the Department of Justice guidelines regarding the expenditure of equitable sharing funds; and

 

WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation is needed to move forward with providing funding for this project.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That funding in the amount of SIXTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($67,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Federal Law Enforcement Trust No. 235 to Account No. 235.211.5596, Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund Capital Projects/Improvements.

 

Section 2. That ORD-0163-2014, passed December 15, 2014, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
