TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EMH&T CONSULTING ENGINEERS AND SURVEYORS FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR HAVENS CORNERS ROAD/HELMBRIGHT DRIVE INTERSECTION; IMPROVEMENT #794, TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $57,000 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been requested by the City Engineer that plans be sought for the design of an assessment project for the intersection of Havens Corners Road and Helmbright; and
WHEREAS, letter proposal for design engineering services, dated June 20, 2001, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with EMH&T Consulting Engineers & Surveyors, 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, for design engineering services for the intersection of Havens Corners Road and Helmbright, said services to be in accordance with proposal letter, dated June 20, 2001, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS (57,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
