Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A THREE YEAR MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH PITNEY BOWES FOR DOCUMATCH WATER BILLING MAIL MACHINE TO INCLUDE SOFTWARE, PROGRAMMING AND TRAINING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the current contract for the Documatch water billing mail machine with Pitney Bowes will expire in December; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to continue the use of the Documatch machine, along with additional software, programming and training; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance before the current contract expires, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into 3 year maintenance contract with PITNEY BOWES, 2323 Westbrooke Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43228-9530, for Documatch water billing mail machine, to include software, programming and training, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS  ($1,500) was set aside in the 2003 appropriations to Account Nos. 651.350.5512, Water Capital Equipment, and 661.360.5512 Sewer Capital Equipment, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
