TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH UTILITY TRUCK EQUIPMENT, INC., FOR PURCHASE OF A BUCKET TRUCK FOR THE STREET DEPARTMENT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Street Department is in need of a bucket truck; and
WHEREAS, the City can purchase the truck off the ODOT bid list, Contract #011-03; and
WHEREAS, in order to get this truck into service as soon as possible to ease the strain on our existing equipment, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with Utility Truck Equipment, Inc., 679 Oakland Park Avenue, Columbus, OH 43224, for a bucket truck, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIXTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($65,000) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations in Account No. 220.330.5512, Capital Projects/Equipment, Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
