TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH GAHANNA EVENTS, INC. FOR EVENTS PLANNER AND COMMUNITY LIAISON COORDINATION SERVICES FOR THE HOLIDAY LIGHTS PARADE.

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Holiday Lights Parade has become a yearly event that is greatly enjoyed by Gahanna citizens as well as those from around Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, planning and supervision of the event requires a professional events planner and community liaison coordinator to prepare press releases and promotional brochures as well as working on fund raising and sponsorship options along with many other duties to work to make this the best possible event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Gahanna Events, Inc., 200 South Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for events planner and community liaison coordination for the Gahanna Holiday Lights Parade.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of EIGHTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($18,000) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 101.343.5240, Holiday Lights, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
