TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EMH&T CONSULTING ENGINEERS AND SURVEYORS FOR THE ACADEMY WOODS STORM SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT #853; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $41,800 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, a study has been completed on the flooding situation in the Academy Woods subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation is to build a storm sewer reliever north of Misty Oak which will intercept most of the drainage which now goes through Academy Woods in flood routing conditions; and
WHEREAS, EMH&T has submitted a proposal for the necessary survey and design work needed for this project; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with EMH&T Consulting Engineers & Surveyors, 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, for surveying and design work for the Academy Woods Storm System Improvements, Imp. #753, said services to be in accordance with scope of services attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($41,800) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.991.5934, Transfer to Stormwater, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That FORTY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($41,800) is hereby transferred from 101.991.5934, Transfer to Stormwater, to 230.000.4931, Revenue Stormwater, to cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That FORTY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($41,800) is hereby transferred from 230.000.4931, Revenue Stormwater, to 230.350.5447, Stormwater, to cover the herein costs.
