TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH CENTURY EQUIPMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF THIRTY GOLF CARTS.

WHEREAS, our current fleet of golf carts is in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, purchasing the carts versus leasing would provide a substantial cost savings to the City of Gahanna over the projected lifespan of the carts; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has recommended we proceed with Century Equipment, an approved vendor on the State contract;
WHEREAS, the total cost to lease the golf carts will be extended over a five year period in yearly installments of $30,000 for a total cost of $149,318.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract for purchase of golf carts with Century Equipment, PO Box 352889, Toledo, Ohio 43635; Purchase Proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and to enter into a Lease Purchase Agreement with VGM Financial Services, a division of TCF National Bank, 1111 West San Marnan Dr, Suite A2 West, Waterloo, IA 50701-8926, attached hereto as EXHIBIT B, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000) was set aside in the 2015 Appropriations to Account No. 101.433.5515, Golf Course Contract Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That the total amount financed in the lease agreement of ONE HUNDRED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN DOLLARS ($149,318) be paid over a five year period and funding will be set aside in the appropriations each year in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000).
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
