WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has recommended a code change to Chapter 135, Department of Public Service and Engineering, to allow the sale of obsolete items at an on-line auction as well as formally permit the trade in of equipment, a process that has been taking place for some time; and
WHEREAS, this would allow the City to sell items through on-line auctions, where the City can place items for sale on the site on a regular basis instead of waiting for the annual auction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Code Section 135.02, Sale of Obsolete Items, of Chapter 135, Department of Public Service and Engineering, is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Section 135.02, Sale of Obsolete Items, of Chapter 135, Department of Public Service and Engineering, or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
