TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH ROCKWOOD CLEANERS FOR DRY CLEANING SERVICE FOR POLICE UNIFORMS FOR 2013; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Section 21.7, Dry Cleaning of Article 21, Equipment and Allowance, of the Fraternal Order of Police Contract states that the City will furnish dry cleaning for uniforms of full time police officers; and
WHEREAS, Section 21.7 further states that the City shall designate the dry cleaning service; and
WHEREAS, this contract needs to be in place by January 1, 2013 so it is prudent to pass this legislation as quickly as possible; all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a 2 Year Agreement with ROCKWOOD CLEANERS, 171 Granville Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 for dry cleaning service for police uniforms for 2013, at $1,675 a month and 2014 at $1,700 per month; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding will be set aside in the 2013 and 2014 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
