ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF GAHANNA, OHIO: Enacting Sections 351.21  PARKING AT ELECTRICAL VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS of Chapter 351 PARKING GENERALLY and Section 949.01 ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS Chapter 949 ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS.

WHEREAS, in order to implement the Electrical Vehicle Charging Stations (EV Charging Stations), and assess a fee for their use, additional provisions are needed to establish EV parking requirements and allow the city to charge fees; and

 

 

WHEREAS, proposed Section 351.21 of Chapter 351 restricts parking at charging stations to electric vehicles that are actively charging and proposed Chapter 949 authorizes the city to implement a fee for usage of the charging stations and allows the Director of Public Service and Engineering to set appropriate fees,

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That Section 351.21 Parking at Electrical Vehicle Charging Stations, of Chapter 351 Parking Generally, is hereby enacted as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That Section 949.01 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, of Chapter 949 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, are hereby enacted as set forth in EXHIBIT B, attached hereto and made a part herein.

 

Section 3.  That Sections 351.21, 949.01 and Chapter 949 are hereby enacted.

 

Section 4.  That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
