TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH INNOVATIVE SOFTWARE SERVICES, INC., FOR CITY INCOME TAX SOFTWARE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, new software is needed for the City income tax program and after review by the Department of Finance the CityTax software is being recommended; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has recommended we proceed with Innovative Software Services, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the purchase of this software to have it in place and fully operational for the next tax year, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with INNOVATIVE SOFTWARE SERVICES, INC., P O Box 70, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827, for purchase of CityTax software, for the income tax division, in accordance with City specifications, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT DOLLARS ($44,008) was appropriated in the 2006 appropriations to Account No. 101.132.5511, Capital Projects, Tax to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
