TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ABM ONSITE SERVICES- MIDWEST, INC.; FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES; TO REPEAL ORD-0004-2015; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Dove Building Services served notice on February 17, 2015 that they decline signing the contract authorized by ORD-0004-2015; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service is recommending that we proceed with the next lowest bidder, ABM Onsite Services - Midwest, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, ORD-0004-2015 must be repealed so that the Mayor can enter into this new Contract; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this immediately in order to maintain janitorial services without interruption, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with ABM Onsite Services - Midwest, Inc., 75 Remittance Drive, Suite 3011, Chicago, IL 60675-3011 for janitorial services, said Contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That ORD-0004-2015 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR DOLLARS ($1,654) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.141.5250, Lands and Building, Janitorial Contract, to cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That ORD-0163-2014, passed December 15, 2014 hereby reflects this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
