TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN FRANKLIN COUNTY AND THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE REGIONAL ROAD RESURFACING PROGRAM; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City obtained grant funding from MORPC through cooperative efforts of both Franklin County and Gahanna to complete resurfacing along sections of US-62 and Havens Corners Road; and
WHEREAS, this provides 80% grant funding with a required 20% local match; the section of US-62 will be funded through local funds that were identified as part of the 2014 Street Program; the section of Havens Corners Road is eligible for permissive tax use and ORD-0092-2014 authorized the funding for the project; and
WHEREAS, an ordinance is necessary to declare the project necessary and to authorize the Mayor to enter into Agreement;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Ordinance declares the necessity of the Regional Resurfacing Program and that the Mayor is authorized to enter into Cooperative Agreement Between Franklin County and the City of Gahanna for the Regional Road Resurfacing Program; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Sec tion 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
