TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION INITIATIVE, TO SURVEY EXISTING BUSINESSES IN THE CITY OF GAHANNA; AND TO DECLARE AND EMERGENCY

WHEREAS,  Director of Development, Sadicka White obtained a proposal from The Ohio State University Business Retention & Expansion Initiative, to survey existing businesses in the City of Gahanna; and

 

WHEREAS, the attached contract is for a period of 12 months; and

 

WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $3000 is available in the 2003 Appropriations for this work to be completed; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation as quickly as possible in order to begin survey process, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION INITIATIVE, 337 AGRICULTURAL ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 2120 FYFFE ROAD, COLUMBUS, OHIO 43210 to survey the existing businesses in the City of Gahanna, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3000) was appropriated in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 101.343.5253, Planning, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
