TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH SUPREME IRRIGATION FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE GAHANNA MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE IRRIGATION SYSTEM; TO WAIVE SECOND READING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, bids were opened on September 20, 2006 for the installation of the golf course irrigation system; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended the lowest, most responsive, and responsible, bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the installation prior to inclement weather, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with SUPREME IRRIGATION, 8270 Waco Lane, Powell, Ohio, 43065 for the installation of the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course Irrigation System, in accordance with bid and City specifications; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in amount of ONE HUNDRED FIFTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($155,000) was set aside to Account No. 101.433.5512, Golf Course, Capital Projects, in the 2006 appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That second reading is hereby waived.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
