TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH URS CORPORATION FOR STORM WATER STUDY OF GAHANNA AND VALERIO HEIGHTS; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $4,500; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the area of Gahanna and Valerio Heights has been experiencing storm water problems during excessive rain events; and

 

WHEREAS, a storm water study of the area is needed and the Water Resources Engineer has recommended we proceed with URS Corporation; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this problem, all for the preservation of the public peace, healther, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with URS CORPORATION, 277 West Nationwide Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43215,  for storm water study of Gahanna and Valerio Heights; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That funding the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations in the Storm Water Fund, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That funding in the amount of FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($4,500) is hereby appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Storm Water Fund to Account No. 631.350.5596, Miscellaneous Storm Improvements, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 4.  That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emeregency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
