TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LIGHTING FOR GAHANNA SKATE PARK AT SHULL PARK; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $7,750; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is in the process of constructing a skate park, at Shull Park, and it is imperative to have lighting at said facility; and

 

WHEREAS, the Deputy Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended we proceed with Jess Howard Electric; and

 

WHEREAS, to have the skate park open by July 1, 2003 it is necessary to proceed immediately all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Jess Howard Electric Company, 6630 Taylor Road, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, for the construction of lighting at Gahanna Skate Park at Shull Park.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($7,750) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund, to Account No. 101.431.5515, Parks Capital Projects, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set for the in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
