A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PAYMENT OF UNUSED VACATION TIME IN EXCESS OF THAT ALLOWED BY ORD-0092-2018 FOR THE INTERIM DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND ENGINEERING

body

WHEREAS, Article 4 of ORD-0092-2018 (the “Benefits Ordinance”), passed December 3, 2018, for unclassified personnel allows for vacation accrual of 240 hours for unclassified employees; and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Article 4, Section 9 (a) of  ORD-0092-2018 (the “Benefits Ordinance”), “an Employee in full-time status may be paid for any vacation balances in excess of the maximum fixed by this article. This is subject to certification by the appointing authority to the Director of Finance and approval by City Council, that due to a bona fide emergency work requirement, it was not in the best interest of the City to permit an Employee to take vacation leave which would otherwise be forfeited as provided in Section 4 of this Article. WHEREAS, It is recognized by this Council that Grant Crawford has exhibited responsibility in fulfilling all duties that are associated with the position of Interim Director of Public Service and Engineering, and is entitled to the vacation time earned,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
