TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH DELL COMPUTERS FOR PURCHASE OF THREE SERVERS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is in need of three additional servers for application, data and web, and an external array box, and 2SQL server licenses; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Information Technology to proceed to purchase these from Dell; and
WHEREAS, it is important that this purchase be made in 2003, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with DELL COMPUTER CORPORATION, One Dell Way, Round Rock, Texas 78682, for the purchase of three servers, an external array box, and 2SQL server licenses; in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount THIRTY THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY EIGHT DOLLARS AND FOURTEEN CENTS ($30,868.14) was set aside in the 2003 appropriations in Account No. 101.355.5511, GIS Capital, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
