TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH XYBIX SYSTEMS, INC., FOR PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF FURNITURE FOR THE POLICE RADIO COMMUNICATIONS CENTER; TO WAIVE SECOND READING; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $26,924; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, to equip the new Police Radio Communications Center, dispatch console furniture is needed; and

 

WHEREAS, letterhead quotes were received, and the best responsible quote has been recommended by the Operations Lieutenant in charge of the renovation; that we proceed to purchase said furniture and have it installed; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this for the safety and security of the citizens of Gahanna, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with XYBIX SYSTEMS, INC., 8160 Blakeland Drive, Unit G, Littleton, Colorado, 80125, for purchase and installation of the Police Communications Center furniture, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWENTY SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS ($26,924) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund, to Account No. 101.211.5512, Capital Projects/Equipment Police, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That waiver of second reading is hereby requested.

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
