TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR HERMITAGE & LEAVITT ROADS, IMP. #833; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $34,224; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, inspection services are needed for the reconstruction of Hermitage and Leavitt Roads and the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed to award said inspection services contract; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward due to the impending construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 7610 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for inspection services for the Hermitage Road and Leavitt Road reconstruction, Imp. #833, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That FIFTEEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY SIX DOLLARS ($15,376) was appropriated to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets, Asphalt Overlay, in the 2003 appropriations and is hereby authorized to be used for inspection services for the Hermitage & Leavitt Roads reconstruction.
Section 3. That THIRTY FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS ($34,224) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets to cover the balance of the herein costs.
Section 4. That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
