WHEREAS, in opposition to House Bill 238, which would restrict the ability of local governments to govern their rights of way, the City of Dublin has obtained Counsel and filed complaint in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas against the State of Ohio, and has asked neighboring cities to help with the cost to fight this bill, since it is in the best interest of the cities; and
WHEREAS, City Council feels this is a very worthwhile project and would like to support Dublin;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund to Account No. 224.181.5232, Tax Increment Equivalent Fund, Special Counsel, to go to the City of Dublin to help oppose H.B. 238.
Section 2. That ORD-1-2000, passed January 3, 2000 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
