ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ABM INDUSTRY GROUPS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, on November 15, 2019 bids for the janitorial services for the municipal buildings contract were opened and reviewed; and,

 

WHEREAS, the lowest and best bidder is ABM Industry Groups; and,

 

WHEREAS, the contract is for three (3) years, commencing January 1, 2020, and ending December 31, 2022, with the provision for two (2) separate renewals of one (1) year each; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this immediately in order to maintain janitorial services without interruption, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with ABM Industry Groups, 1817 O’Brien Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43228 for janitorial services, said Contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That the second reading is hereby waived.

 

Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
