TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR A PORTION OF THE DESIGN OF THE TECH CENTER DRIVE EXTENSION FOR ROADWAY ACROSS THE BUCKLES PROPERTY, IMPROVEMENT NO. 762; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $55,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, proposal has been received from Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, for a portion of the design of improvements for a roadway across the Buckles Property to align with a future planned extension of Tech Center Drive across I-270, and the City Engineer has recommended we accept it and proceed; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this design work to help alleviate the traffic flow problem in the Hamilton and Morrison Road area, all for the preservation of the public, peace, health, safety and welfare:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for design improvements in conjunction with the extension of Tech Center Drive, Improvement No. 762; said Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That to cover the herein costs, funding in the amount of FIFTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($55,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering.
Section 3. That ORD-1-2000, passed January 3, 2000, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
