TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH RESOURCE OHIO, FOR CARPET CLEANING MAINTENANCE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue monthly carpet cleaning maintenance with ReSource Ohio as originally authorized in ORD-0235-2001; and
WHEREAS, ReSource Ohio, has done an excellent job under the existing contract and has submitted a price increase amounting to 3%; and
WHEREAS, in order to keep the service on a regular schedule as arranged under the old contract, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with ReSource Ohio, 2571 Silver Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43211, for monthly carpet maintenance cleaning at $199.87 per month for a 3,000 sq. ft. area, which can be specified each month.
Section 2. That funds were appropriated to Account No. 101.141.5441, Contract Services, in the 2003 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
