TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH SCHIEBER & ASSOCIATES FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE HAMILTON ROAD NORTH MEDIAN LANDSCAPING PROJECT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, additional work on the Hamilton Road North project for median landscaping has been authorized by Council; and
WHEREAS, is necessary to have inspection services for this project, and the City Engineer has recommended we proceed with Schieber & Associates; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed forward with the inspection services in a timely fashion to keep the project on schedule, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with SCHIEBER & ASSOCIATES, 457 Waterbury Court - Suite D, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for the Hamilton Road North median landscaping project, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
