TO AMEND SECTION 137.02, ANIMAL AND PEST CONTROL OFFICER, OF CHAPTER 137, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, in preparing another code amendment it was noted that this section was not updated when the last change was made to Chapter 505, Animals and Fowl; and
WHEREAS, amendment needs to be made to give authority for citing for more than a minor misdemeanor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Section 137.02, Animal and Pest Control Officer, of Chapter 137, Department of Public Safety, is hereby amended as follows:
137.02 ANIMAL AND PEST CONTROL OFFICER.
Persons employed by the City as Animal and Pest Control Officers shall be authorized to issue citations for minor misdemeanors committed in violation of applicable sections of Chapter 505, Animals and Fowl, of the Codified Ordinances of the City.
Section 2. That existing Section 137.02, Animal and Pest Control Officer, of Chapter 137, Department of Public Safety, is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
