TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH PLAYCORE WISCONSIN INC. DBA GAMETIME FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW PLAYGROUND AT FRIENDSHIP PARK
BODY

WHEREAS, Friendship Park is one of the City of Gahanna's most heavily utilized parks, serving daily visitors, summer camp participants, and community event attendees; and

WHEREAS, the existing playground at Friendship Park has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement; and

WHEREAS, the replacement of the Friendship Park playground is consistent with the goals and commitments identified in the Parks Master Plan and Capital Improvement Project PK-25-201; and

WHEREAS, the City engaged residents, Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools, and experts in inclusive play throughout the design process to ensure the playground provides an engaging, accessible, and inclusive recreational experience for users of all abilities; and

WHEREAS, the City intends to utilize the OMNIA Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the purchase and installation of the playground equipment; and

WHEREAS, PlayCore Wisconsin Inc. dba GameTime, P.O. Box 208, Harrison, Ohio 45030, has submitted a proposal through the OMNIA Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the purchase and installation of the Friendship Park playground; and

WHEREAS, the total project cost is $893,900, including a five percent contingency for unforeseen expenses; and

WHEREAS, the City has received a $10,000 donation from the Gahanna Kiwanis and a pledge of $25,000 from the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation to support the project; and

WHEREAS, funds for this project have been appropriated within Capital Improvement Project PK-25-201, with additional appropriations related to the donations being requested through separate legislation (ORD-0022-2026).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
