TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH CHARLIE'S DODGE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF A DODGE DURANGO FOR THE ZONING DIVISION; TO BE PURCHASED OFF THE STATE CONTRACT INDEX #GDC093; TO REPEAL ORD-0095-2012; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0095-2012 authorized the purchase of a Jeep Liberty for the Zoning Division and when the legislation was in effect the City was told that they no longer make the model; and
WHEREAS, the closest model to the Jeep Liberty that is not a van is the Dodge Durango and the Director of Public Service is recommending we proceed to purchase this vehicle for the Zoning Division; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to pass this ordinance as soon as possible for the smooth running of the Zoning Division, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with CHARLIE'S DODGE, INC., 725 Illinois Ave., Maumee, OH 43537, for a Dodge Durango for the Zoning Division off the State Contract, Index #GDC093; quote attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($24,978) is available in the 2012 Appropriations in Account No. 101.512.5515, General Fund Equipment Replacement Program, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0095-2012 is hereby repealed.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
