TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 980440, THE ORDINANCE FOR SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL, TO ALLOW PAYMENT OF SALARY TO SECRETARY TO THE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AT MORE THAN THE BOTTOM OF THE RANGE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 980440, passed November 2, 1998, and amended various times, most recently by ORD-0195-2000; and
WHEREAS, said ordinance for unclassified personnel provides for compensation and benefits for certain City employees; and
WHEREAS, it is critical for the orderly flow of business in the Department of Development to allow this position to be filled in a timely fashion, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Article II, Pay Ranges, of Ordinance No. 980440, passed November 18, 1998, as amended most recently by Ord-0195-2000, is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That payment at the stated rate of pay approved by this legislation shall be effective the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and upon date of signature approval by the Mayor.
