TO HONOR AND COMMEND ED RAREY FOR 50 YEARS OF COACHING TRACK AT GAHANNA LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL

WHEREAS, ED RAREY has been coaching track at the Gahanna Lincoln High School for the past 50 years and has earned the respect of all who have known him; and
WHEREAS, ED RAREY, while coaching, was a part of four Franklin County League Championships, 7 Mid-Eight League Championships, 17 Ohio Capital Conference Championships, 20 Central District Championships, 10 Regional Championships, and 1 State Championship in 1979.
WHEREAS, through ED RAREY's career he has a total of 546 wins and only 54 losses; he coached 4 High School All-Americans, and coached several state champions; and
WHEREAS, ED RAREY from 1952 to 1958 taught Science at Lincoln High School and Intermediate School and served as Principal from 1958 to 1990, mainly at Lincoln Elementary; and
WHEREAS, ED RAREY has established an exemplary standard for teaching and athletics through his years at Gahanna;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration do hereby extend their congratulations to ED RAREY for his contribution to our community and athletics at Gahanna Lincoln High School and wishes him well in his retirement.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
