TO AMEND CODE SECTION 929.12, WATER RATES OF CHAPTER 929, WATER CONNECTIONS AND RATES, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended a change to Code Section 929.12, to allow some degree of stepped water rates; and
WHEREAS, Gahanna has not had a customer base that has had enough high volume users to make a stepped rate a viable option before now, but would like to create one step that would not cause the City to lose any existing revenue; and
WHEREAS, having this stepped rate would make Gahanna more attractive to high volume water customers as they could receive a reduced rate after purchasing a set amount of water at full price;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Code Section 929.12, Water Rates, of Chapter 929, Water Connections and Rates, is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Section 929.12, Water Rates, of Chapter 929, Water Rates and Connections, or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
