TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH SUTHERLANDS FOR PURCHASE OF MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE CREEKSIDE WEST SIDE LOOP WALKWAY; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letterhead quotes were received for materials needed for construction of the Creekside West Side Loop Walkway; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended that we proceed with the best quote; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project as soon as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into purchase agreement with SUTHERLANDS, 575 N. Nelson Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219, for materials needed for the construction of the Creekside West Side Loop Walkway, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. The funding in the amount of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($27,000) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 325.122.5548, Capital Improvement, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That waiver of second reading is requested.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
