TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH THE COLUMBUS ACADEMY SCHOOLS FOR WATERLINE EASEMENT ACQUISITION, CHERRY BOTTOM ROAD IMPROVEMENT; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $20,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has an urgent need to complete waterline along Cherry Bottom Road; and

 

WHEREAS, the Columbus Academy Schools have agreed to the purchase of approximately 2.7 acres for the easement; and  

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative that we proceed with this waterline immediately, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement with the Columbus Academy Schools, 4300 Cherry Bottom, Gahanna, Ohio  43230, for Perpetual Easement for Utility Purposes; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That to cover the herein costs, funding in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the Water Fund, to Account No. 652.351.5596, Miscellaneous Water Improvements. 

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0198-2000, passed January 3, 2000, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
