TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT LTD., FOR TEMPORARY HUMAN RESOURCES PERSONNEL SERVICES DURING A DEPARTMENT FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE SITUATION; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Human Resources Coordinator will be on Family Medical Leave for approximately 6 to 8 weeks; and

 

WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department is a two person department, and help will be needed while the Coordinator is off; and

 

WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has received proposal from a Human Resource company to provide personnel during the time the HR Coordinator is off, and has recommended that we proceed with them; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the nature of  need for personnel it is imperative to have this in effect as soon as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into TEMPORARY HUMAN RESOURCES STAFFING AGREEMENT with the HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT LTD., One Metro Place, 545 Metro Place South, Suite 100, Dublin, Ohio 43017, for personnel coverage while the HR Coordinator is on leave; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SIXTY FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,400) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.125.5119, Human Resources, Contract Services, to cover the herein costs. 

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
