TO AMEND SECTION 927.24, ILLICIT DISCHARGE TO THE STORM SEWER SYSTEM, OF CHAPTER 927, STORM SEWERS, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, the Ohio EPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Program requires Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s), to create a program to detect and eliminate illicit discharges into the storm sewer; and
WHEREAS, Gahanna does have a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System; and
WHEREAS, the City needs to adopt regulations to provide sufficient authority for the municipality to detect illicit discharges and require compliance, and a code change is needed;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Section 927.24, Illicit Discharge to the Storm Sewer System, of Chapter 927, Storm Sewers, of the Codified Ordinances of Gahanna is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Section 927.24, Illicit Discharge to the Storm Sewer System, of Chapter 927, Storm Sewers, or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
