TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MARTIN PAINTING & COATING COMPANY FOR PAINTING OF THE HUNTERS RIDGE POOL; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, bids were opened for painting of the Hunters Ridge Pool on March 10, 2006, and the lowest, most responsive, and responsible, bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, to have the pool ready for the swimming season it is imperative to move forward all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with MARTIN PAINTING & COATING COMPANY, 2040 Longwood Avenue, Grove City, Ohio 43123, for the painting of the Hunters Ridge Pool; in accordance with bid and City specifications, said bid tabulations attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THREE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($23,980) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account 101.438.5512, Capital Projects/Equipment, Hunters Ridge Aquatic Center, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
