WHEREAS, there is an abandoned fuel tank at our 781 Science Blvd. property; and

 

WHEREAS, informal bids were received and the Director of Public Service has recommended that we proceed with the lowest bidder; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to remove the tank as soon as possible because of environmental concerns, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with U.S.T. ENVIRONMENTAL, 4411 Carroll Southern Road, Carroll, Ohio 43112, for removal of the abandoned fuel tank at 781 Science Blvd, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of EIGHTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($18,860) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 101.512.5512, Garage Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That waiver of second reading has been requested.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
