TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT TO JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC AS A SUBCONTRACTOR FOR THE HAVENS CORNERS IMPROVEMENT, IMP. #794, FOR CHANGE ORDERS IN THE PROJECT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, a change order to the Havens Corner/Helmbright project for signal modifications was never processed; and
WHEREAS, that change order resulted in a cost of $14,429 to the subcontractor, Jess Howard and
WHEREAS, direct payment to Jess Howard Electric will save markup costs and further billing delays; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of FOURTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY NINE DOLLARS ($14,429) was appropriated to Account. No 220.330.5547 in the 2003 appropriations and is hereby redesignated from the Crack Seal Program to pay the additional costs for this change order to Jess Howard Electric.
Section 2. That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this redesignation of funds.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
